Rick Schmitt, founder and owner.
The Bike Shack has been your family shop for over 40 years.  Founded in 1979 by Rick Schmitt, our business has been operated by the same family since then.  These family members are Rick's daughter Pam, nephew Dan, and grandson Josh.  Originally located at Burlington and Primrose in Dubuque, Iowa, The Bike Shack has changed locations a few times over the years as our store has grown.  The second location was on Delhi Street accross from the current Unity Point Hospital.  The store moved for a few years to a retail spot in Plaza 20 shopping area.  Each time a moved occurred, the store got bigger to reflect a growing business.  In 1998, we moved to our current location at 3250 Dodge Street.

The Bike Shack is the oldest same owner Bike Store in the area, and we have the most consistent staff around.  With over 100 years of combined experience, you are guaranteed to see a familiar face when you come in.
